Eden witnessed in pity
That scene she so despised,
Helpless to stop her friend from making that mistake,
That one so many girls before her had made,
That one so many after her would repeat.
Giving everything away,
Too young to know she'd regret it all the next morning,
No matter how he promised it'd be.

She watched as her firend was drawn in,
By his too-sweet words, quick tounge, and hypnotizing eyes.
She screamed in protest;
A warning muffled by the gag He had placed in her mouth,
Bright scarlet against her papery skin.

Even if it had been heard, though, the cry would have done no good,
For Eden was too late;
Eve had taken the bait, given in to the sweet fruit of temptation.
A tear rolled down her ivory cheek, only to be absorbed by her short black curls as she dropped to her knees.

It was so that Eden sank to grief.
